ABOUT US
Who We Are
New Life Sanctuary is an Assemblies of God church where people of all ages belong and grow together. We are anchored in God’s Word and led by the Spirit, with a Passion for Jesus and Compassion for People.
Our Story
We began in 1975 as SS Assemblies of God, an outreach of Glad Tidings PJ. Through God’s blessing, the church has grown into the multi-generational community it is today. Renamed to “New Life Sanctuary” in 1987, we are now based in Dataran Glomac. Come and be part of what God is doing here!
Our Leadership

Care Groups
Care Groups (CGs) are smaller gatherings which meet over meals/drinks, at church, in homes, sometimes online or wherever works best. CGs help to build our relationships with Bible study, prayer, and simply doing life together. It’s a place to belong, be encouraged, and to grow in faith alongside others!
- Sunday, 4:30pm
Chinese Church
Led by Pastor Johnny Low, our Chinese Service welcomes Cantonese speakers together every Sunday for a weekly time of worship, prayer and sharing of God’s Word and features special events, festive celebrations, and guest speakers throughout the year.
由刘约翰牧师带领,我们的华语崇拜每周欢迎粤语弟兄姐妹一同聚集,敬拜、祷告并分享神的话语。全年也会举办特别活动与节庆庆典,让弟兄姐妹一同相聚、交流与成长。
Children’s Ministry
Our Children’s Ministry (ages 3–12) runs alongside the main service, where kids learn about God in a relatable way. Our team of dedicated teachers make classes fun and engaging through Bible stories, songs, games, and creative activities.
Every 3rd Sunday, “Mighty Kids” is a special kids-led (and guided) experience with lively worship, games, interactive lessons, and a birthday celebration for the month. There are also special celebrations, performances, and holiday programmes that make learning about faith exciting and memorable throughout the year. So, come start your child as early as possible!
- Sunday, 10:30am
Worship Ministry
As a Spirit-led church, we value praise that is vibrant, expressive, and guided by the Holy Spirit — drawing us into the presence of God in a real and personal way.
Through music and song, our team serves together to lead the congregation in worship, inviting moments of encouragement, renewal, and meaningful encounters with God.
Youth Alive
Youth Alive is a space for young people (13 and up). Through worship, real conversations, and shared experiences, we help youths discover their identity in Christ. Building meaningful friendships, and learning how to navigate life with faith and purpose have never been more important.
- 2nd and 4th Sundays, 10:30am
- Bible Study: 1st and 3rd Sundays, 12:30pm
- Pickleball: 2nd and 4th Sundays, 4:00pm
Young Adults
“I’m figuring out work, life, and everything in between.” Who hasn’t gone through this? This is why we have a Young Working Adults group. It’s a community of people who understand (and are sometimes still going through) the season you’re in.
Real conversations. Bible study. Makan sessions, badminton, and pickleball, just anything really … Let’s do life together in a way that’s meaningful and fun! Come build friendships, find support, and journey through adulthood with purpose (and good food) as we live out the Gospel.
“As iron sharpens iron, so one person sharpens another” – Proverbs 27:17
Community Service
Our Community Services ministry cares for the whole person — body, mind, and spirit:
- Healing Rooms Ministries — a by-appointment prayer ministry for those who are sick and hurting emotionally, physically, mentally and/or spiritually (open to all, no matter where you are in your faith journey)
- Integrated Wellness Care & Support Services (IWCSS) — a network of qualified professionals providing holistic care across medical, mental, and allied health needs
- Community Care Projects — outreach initiatives including health talks, blood donation drives, and practical support for those in need.
W.O.W. (Wonders of Wealth)
W.O.W. celebrates the richness of life in our golden years — bringing together seniors who are a treasure of wisdom, faith, and experience. There are appropriate “zero-stress” activities designed for encouragement & edification, reminding participants that there’s always something to “wow” about!
Prayer Ministry
Nothing brings people together quite like seeking God’s heart and standing in the gap for others — lifting up the needs of our church, community, and nation. As we pray, we trust in His power to lead, restore, and work in every situation.
Whether you’re new to prayer or a veteran at it, you’re warmly invited to join us for our weekly prayer meeting. Prayer teams continue to intercede throughout the week as needs arise, so you are welcome to join them too!
- Wednesdays, 8:30pm
- 1st Wednesday onsite at NLS | Other weeks on Zoom

TESTIMONIES
Real People, Real Stories.
In March 2024, I was diagnosed with meningitis and hospitalized for 21 difficult days. For many days, I was mostly unconscious, weak, trembling, and unable to remember much around me. I lost nearly 11 kg and later spent 55 days recovering at home.
During one dark night, I asked God, “Where are You?”. In that moment, I only saw glimpses of my wife Angela and my children beside me. Later, God placed this realization in my heart:
“I was with them, and therefore I was with you.”
Through the prayers of my church, the love of my family, and God’s quiet presence, I found strength, comfort, and healing. This journey reminded me that even in our weakest moments, God never leaves us alone.

During my first visit, I didn’t know what to do while everyone sang worship songs. I wasn’t a believer then.
On my second visit, I quietly prayed, “Lord, if possible, please cure my biggest issue — I cannot sleep.”
I had struggled with poor sleep for two years. Once, I even drove to a 24-hour clinic for sleeping pills, but was turned away.
On my third visit, one word stood out: “SURRENDER.”
Later, I came across Isaiah 41:10. In that moment, I experienced true peace and gave my life to Christ.
Since then, my sleepless nights are gone. I now sleep well — without medication.

A 9-month medical journey involved being diagnosed with Stage 1 Kidney Cancer, removal of a kidney, a second admission for a lung biopsy test, followed by a third with painful chest tube insertion—all while continuing to practice as a Part II Graduate Architect.
During this time, I felt touched by God’s divine presence through His Word: Nehemiah 8:10, Jeremiah 17:7, Matthew 7:7-13, and Revelation 3:8; I’m thankful for His gracious love, my family (especially my parents); for the care and prayers from my brothers and sisters in Christ. These sustained and carried me through this exhausting journey.
I look forward to life’s next chapter, anticipating His continuing guidance. In Jesus’s name, Amen!

While driving with my husband to SJMC, our car was suddenly hit by a huge container truck.
The impact caused the car to spin uncontrollably, but by God’s GRACE, I steered and braked , avoiding hitting the roadside barrier and oncoming traffic.
I stood in AWE of God’s PROTECTION believing His guardian angels and mighty hands preserved us from danger. It was A MIRACLE that we were safe and uninjured, though shaken.
It is a sobering reminder that LIFE IS FRAGILE , things can suddenly happen unexpectedly. We are thankful for our members’ prayers, love, and concern!
